I was so excited when Shannon and Jesse emailed me to let me know they wanted to book me as their Flagstaff wedding photographer. I had met with them a couple weeks prior at one of my favorite local coffee shops to talk about their upcoming destination Flagstaff wedding. The couple lives in New York full time, Brooklyn to be exact. They met on OKCupid after Jesse noticed how cute Shannon was in her profile photo and therefore decided to send her a story about zombies taking over Baltimore.
The wedding day couldn’t have been more perfect. Distant sounds of thunder threatened us with a downpour, but Mother Nature held out for us. The clouds did, however, provide us with some amazing soft light throughout the entire ceremony.
As a wedding photographer, one of my favorite things during reception time is to observe the guests and how they interact for the remainder of the night. Matt and I even like to take guesses after the ceremony as to whether or not the guests will be a dancing, let loose kind of crowd or one on the more conservative, in-bed-early kind. Shannon and Jesse’s guests were awesome and some of our favorites in 2014. The live music was great and then their playlist continued the fun. Matt and I had, “Cecilia – you’re breaking my heart….” in our heads for weeks after. Practically everyone was out on the dance floor at some point which made our job so much fun to get in there, get sweaty and get some awesome photos.
I was grateful to have Matt as my second shooter at 5 months pregnant with my feet twice their size at that point. 🙂
We are so happy for you, S+J! Keep in touch!
